Real people. Real care. Everything a new mum needs in her first six weeks — at home, on your schedule, built entirely around you.
"The first six weeks are the most vulnerable a woman will ever be. And the world largely looks away."
The NHS discharges new mothers within 24 hours. The next check isn't until week 6. In between — nothing. No coordinated support, no follow-through, no safety net.
This is where postnatal depression develops undetected. Where breastfeeding fails. Where mums feel they have failed — when the system failed them. Maara operates in this exact window.
Maara generates your personalised six-week plan before baby arrives. When birth is logged, everything activates automatically. You don't book anything — it arrives.
A 10-minute intake at week 36. Your birth preferences, household setup, dietary needs, cultural background, and support network. Done once — before you're overwhelmed.
A personalised six-week Care Plan is generated — doula visits, home prep, meals, therapy — matched to you and your birth type. You review and approve it. It waits.
Baby arrives, the plan activates. Your home is prepared before you return from hospital. Your postnatal doula meets you within the hour. Week 2 and week 4 wellbeing check-ins are already scheduled.
Every provider is DBS-checked, postpartum-trained, and culturally matched to you.
In-home support, newborn guidance, and emotional care. Day visits and overnight sits available.
Home visit from day 3. Latch support, supply, weighted feeds and tongue tie assessment.
Home visits from week 2. Recovery programme designed for your specific birth type.
PND support, birth trauma, anxiety. Video or home visits with maternal health specialists.
Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale at weeks 2 and 4 — early detection in the window the NHS misses.
Your home is cleaned and readied before you arrive back from hospital. The Maara welcome.
Light cleaning, laundry, errands — postpartum-trained helpers who know to move quietly.
A cook batch-preps for the week. High-iron, breastfeeding-friendly, culturally matched.
Real humans, any hour. Not a chatbot. The 3am call when you just need someone who understands.
Choose the level of support that's right for you. All packages include 24/7 support line access and your home preparation visit.
Subsidised access available. Maara offers 50% reduced pricing for single parents, Universal Credit recipients, and households below £25k income. Email hello@maara.care to apply — no questions asked, one document needed.
Every culture has its own postpartum wisdom — 40-day rest periods, specific healing foods, female elder support traditions. Maara honours all of it. We match you with providers who share your language, background, and cultural understanding.
Baby blues resolve on their own. Postnatal depression doesn't. Maara is the only platform with a built-in clinical screening pathway in the window that matters most.
Baby blues affects 80% of mums, peaks at day 5, and resolves by day 14 — it's a hormonal shift, not an illness. Postnatal depression affects 1 in 5 mums, starts between weeks 2 and 8, and needs real support. Maara's care window is precisely where the distinction matters.
At week 2 and week 4, every Maara mum completes the EPDS — the NHS's own validated 10-question screening tool. A threshold score triggers an immediate referral to a postnatal therapist. Early detection, not late crisis management.
Mums tell a Maara support worker at 3am what they won't tell their GP, partner, or health visitor. Every support line worker is trained in PND warning signs and escalation. This is early detection infrastructure the NHS doesn't have.
Rare but a psychiatric emergency. Every Maara provider is trained to recognise the symptoms of postpartum psychosis and has a clear escalation protocol. Your safety is never left to chance.
Maara operates three access tiers. Our premium packages fund subsidised care for the mums who need it most.
The full Nest, Nurture, and Full Circle packages at standard pricing. The margin from these packages cross-funds access for lower-income mums.
Half-price packages for single parents, Universal Credit recipients, and households below £25k per year. Verified by one document. No judgement.
Fully funded places for mums referred by community midwives, Gingerbread, and Home-Start. Paid for by NHS commissioning, grants, and employer contributions.

We're building a founding provider network in London. DBS-checked, experienced, and passionate about postpartum care.
"We grew a human. We deserve to be held while we find our feet again."
The gap Maara was built to close
Before — ideally around week 36. That's when you have the bandwidth to complete the intake and approve your care plan. Once the baby arrives, everything activates automatically. You can sign up after birth but earlier gives us more time to match you perfectly.
Yes — every single one, without exception. Every Maara provider holds a current enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, professional indemnity and public liability insurance (minimum £1m cover), and has completed our postpartum awareness induction before their first booking.
Absolutely. C-section birth is one of the most important signals in your care plan. Pelvic floor physio is automatically delayed to week 4. Home help intensity increases in the first two weeks. Overnight sits are strongly recommended for week 1. Your doula is briefed on wound care awareness and mobility limitations. The plan adapts the moment the birth type is confirmed.
Three hours before your estimated return from hospital, a Maara-trained home helper goes to your house using the key safe code you set up during onboarding. They do a light clean of the key rooms, put fresh bedding on the bed, set up your baby station, and stock your fridge with the pre-selected postnatal food box. You walk through your front door to a home that's ready for you.
At weeks 2 and 4, your doula or care coordinator will guide you through the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale — the NHS's own validated 10-question screening tool. It takes about 5 minutes. If your score is above threshold, we schedule a session with a postnatal therapist within 48 hours. You'll never just be told to "see your GP" and left to figure it out.
Yes. We offer 50% subsidised pricing for single parents, Universal Credit recipients, and households below £25k per year. Email hello@maara.care with a brief note and one piece of supporting documentation. We also work with community midwife teams and charities to provide fully funded places — if you've been referred by a charity or NHS service, your place is free.
We are launching in London first — specifically East and South London in our first phase. Birmingham and Manchester will follow in our second phase. If you're outside these areas, join the waitlist and we'll notify you when we launch in your city.
Yes — everything is available as an add-on. Extra doula visits, additional lactation consultant sessions, overnight sits, therapy sessions, meal prep sessions and food boxes can all be booked individually through your Maara dashboard at any point during your six weeks.
